Changing Game Modes in Minecraft In-Game
The game mode is adjusted using the /gamemode
command. Enter the command in the chat bar, which you can access by default using the [t] key.
You can choose between four different modes.
Note: Replace [playername]
with the name of the player for whom you want to change the game mode.
Survival Game Mode
Use the command /gamemode survival [playername]
to enter the “normal” Minecraft game mode.
Creative Game Mode
With the command /gamemode creative [playername]
, you can activate the creative game mode. You will have access to all blocks and can fly by pressing the space bar twice.
Adventure Game Mode
By using the command /gamemode adventure [playername]
, you start the adventure game mode. In this mode, you cannot mine blocks. Only pressing switches and crafting items is possible.
Spectator Game Mode
By using the command /gamemode spectator [playername]
, you start the spectator game mode.
If the player’s name is, for example, Peter, the complete command would look like this:/gamemode creative Peter
Please pay attention to the capitalization of the names!
