Valheim - How to become an admin

1. Obtaining the Player ID

Steam

For Steam, you will need your SteamID64.
You can get it from Steam by going to your account details (click on Steam-> Settings -> Account -> View Account Details).
Alternatively, you can use websites like https://steamid.io.

Xbox and Microsoft Store

Start your server and connect to it.
Once connected, stop your server.
Download the most recent server log file.
You can find this on the Logfiles FTP.
In the log file, find the timestamp of your connection, which should look like this:
03/22/2023 17:51:20: PlayFab socket with remote ID playfab/EED5790A5F14639A received local Platform ID Xbox_2533274808739573.
You will need the following ID: Xbox_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

2. Enter the Player ID

Enter the player ID under Server Settings -> Admin Settings.
Click Save and restart your server.

Activating the Console

In Steam, right-click on Valheim and select Properties.
Under General, in the field under Launch Options, enter the following: -console
Close the window.

For the Microsoft Store version, you need to create a shortcut for valheim.exe.
Then, right-click on the shortcut and select Properties.
In the Target field, add the following at the end: -console.
Make sure there is a space between valheim.exe and -console.
Click Apply and close the window. From now on, start your game using the shortcut.

The console can be accessed in-game by pressing the F5 key.
