Troubleshooting Guide for Gameserver

Here are a few simple steps you can take if your server fails to start correctly.

  1. The first step should be to check the server logs. In most cases, the cause can be found there.
You can find the logs of the server on the Logfiles FTP.
For instructions on how to connect to it, please refer to our wiki: FTP Area.
  2. Have you made any changes to the settings in Advanced Mode? If so, there may be an incorrect setting.
Switch back to Basic Mode and try starting the server again.
  3. The mods you’re using can also be a reason why the server fails to start correctly.
Remove all mods and try starting the server. If it starts, add one mod back at a time.
  4. It’s possible that the savegame is corrupted. In that case, it’s recommended to restore from a backup.
Note that some games can create their own backups, such as the Farming Simulator. Please use those first.
You can find those in the server’s web interface under SAVEGAMES.
  5. If the above tips don’t help, you can always create a new configuration for your server and start it.
It’s recommended to use the suggested settings at first.
Creating new configurations doesn’t incur any additional costs, and you can create as many as you want.
